Sea Witch by Malla13 Sea Witch by Malla13
Created for the MYFX Challenge 47 "Shipwreck".

I know, I know, it's not really a shipwreck so much as a ship about to be wrecked. XD Close enough. Even pirate ships are a bit too much on the technical side for my taste. :| Oh well.

This rather sexy sea witch is bored and wants to play. Those poor sailors.... I may go back and rework this later, but I'm worried about overdoing it at the moment. I used a photo of a bellydancer from morguefile.com for reference for the sea witch (especially those hands!).

Thank you. ^_^ I did actually start another piece with this same sea witch, only this time you can see her octopus tentacles. ;) I don't know when I'll finish it, though. XD

Thanks Ivy. I wish I'd spent more time on the ship, but the last one I painted had me throwing things across the room. XD

People are slightly easier I think. They have fewer straight lines, anyway. XD

I can never get all the parts to look right together on people. I can do a portrait with a HUGE struggle , but getting the arms and legs attached to the torso and having them all look correct together I have a problem with. I guess I will stick with cartoony looking people.

I'm usually okay if I'm only doing part of a person, like with this one only being from the torso up. Putting it all together is still a bit confusing. I like your cartoony style. :)
