Here we have the lovable and terrifying Saetan from the Black Jewels Trilogy. It's been a while since I've done any art for those books, and it has been suggested that I do the three portraits: Saetan, Daemon, and Lucivar.
Well...I've done Saetan. XD I am lazy and/or busy. Yes. Anyway, I used a pic of Ralph Fiennes [link] as a reference. This was done very quickly in a different style than I normally use. I've been working mainly in Black and White to start, just to get the values right, and adding in color later (hence this was an excellent reference! XD). It's something I picked up off of Henning Ludvigson's site: [link] . I haven't quite figured out the coloring yet, but I definitely like this technique. Character (C) Anne Bishop.
