Description
Created for the MY-FX Challenge "Plushtoy Freakshow".
Reference used. I also employed some textures this time (burlap for the teddy, concrete for the ground). I'm not sure where I got the blood patterns from (if you recognize them let me know so I can say thanks!).
This was originally a lot greener, more of a zombie teddy, but I liked the yellowy tones more (looks sicker, in my opinion).

i love the textures in this one. the green in the ground is a little weird but i think it helped to capture the mood you were going for. the only thing i have to say about this one is the blood is a little weird. the color is good, but it's gonna conform to the surface is on. if the surface is curved, the blood will look curved.
also it's not gonna be just one color, theres gonna be different shades of red within the blood, mostly i suppose because of the lighting. blood isn't 2d. it will have reflections and shadows.
i honestly like the uniform color of the blood though so i wouldn't change that. but the blood spot on the ground right below the bear was bothering me, because the entire picture has a perspective while the blood splat looks straight on. it also looks too detailed--the blurriness of the ground and the sharpness of the blood makes the blood seem unnatural.
that being said, i like the blood on the bear. the splatters seem more believable and the 'wounds' are very different from the blood but work really well with the bear and help to tie the blood spots into the picture.
